It is estimated that approximately one in five Americans currently live with some sort of disability placing a burden on themselves or their family members.** Additionally, an estimated 2.5 million Americans residing outside of health institutions use wheelchairs and 56.7% of wheelchair users are 65 or older.*** In many cases, their reliance on wheelchairs is due to the incidence of stroke or spinal cord injury.
