About Us

Founded by medical products inventor and entrepreneur, Edgar Otto, Preferred Medical Devices manufactures the UrAssist system. Our core executive team represents a collective 70+ years experience in the healthcare and medical products industry. They have hands-on experience with all aspects of starting and operating successful manufacturing, sales and marketing organizations.

Mr. Otto is Chairman of PMD, and is responsible for numerous successful business ventures and the recipient of several awards. He created UrAssist following his own troubling hospital experience when a catheter-related infection nearly cost him his life. Immediately, he realized the need for a safer, more hygienic solution to urinary incontinence, and embarked on a four-year mission that resulted in the UrAssist system.
